After the group presentation, participants will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Legal Aid of NC attorneys to discuss heir property issues or estate planning needs.
Legal Aid of NC paralegals will be onsite to conduct private eligibility screenings with participants. Eligibility is determined based upon household size and income.
Those who qualify may be eligible to receive Legal Aid of NC assistance with the development of a Last Will and Testament, Health Care Power of Attorney, financial Power of Attorney, and Living Will.
“Lawyers use the term “heir property” to describe land or homes that people have inherited from others, often from a family member who passed away without leaving a will. Heir property typically involves many people who have inherited shares in the property from the original deceased owner,” Legal Aid of NC.
